Posted March 21, 2006 Share Posted March 21, 2006 (03-21) 2:33 PST MORAGA -- An earthquake measured at 3.7 magnitude shook the East Bay this afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake was reported at 1:41 p.m. about 4 miles southeast of Moraga and was felt as far away as Pacifica, San Mateo and San Francisco. The USGS measured the temblor's depth at 8.2 miles. Two smaller earthquakes, one with a magnitude of 2.7 and another with a magnitude of 1.4, struck minutes afterward in the same area. The 2.7 earthquake hit at 1:45 p.m. and the 1.4 magnitude temblor took place at 1:47 p.m. No injuries or damage were initially reported.
