Gunm
A few years ago my gf had a friend that liked her more than a friend and consequently tried to woo her away from me despitew knowing that she was in a relationship. Fast forward to now. She still talks to this piece of work nbow and again and found out that he has a new love interest who lives across the hall from him. now here come the weird paralells... 1) Like my gf, this chick is asian 2) She has a a boyfriend who has the same name as me 3) He's using the same tacttics as before to make it happen. I wanted A) your thoughts on this situation (no, i don't give a fuck that my gf still talks to this guy. he is more than aware of the reprecussions of what would happen if he ever tried anything again.) B) Would this fit the definition of irony? I think it's bizarre. I am quite curious to see how this pans out.
Yellow Feets
Isn't irony when something opposite of what you expect happens? Well, no, this isn't. It's bizzare as fuck though. I doubt that the guy is doing this (liking her because of the similarities) on purpse though. But then again there are some strange people out there... mkonji
Irony is the incongruity between what might be expected and what actually occurs: “Hyde noted the irony of Ireland's copying the nation she most hated” (Richard Kain). Or an occurrence, result, or circumstance notable for such incongruity.
nomadawhat
this is merely coincidence, not irony.
