With the "sexual parents" thread, some people mentioned Step parents and such, so i was wondering, how many of your parents are split up? or you have had a divorce? Just wonderin if its about the 50% that they say

  2. My parents are still together after 30 years and i'd feel happy about my self if i'll be so into my future wife after so long...it sets a pretty hard example

My parents are still together and have a real good marraige. They are starting to get to that age though where the nagging and shit talking about each other kicks into overdrive.

my parents got married a few months after i was born in 1976 and are still together

they are still totally in love
they don't really have friends, they just hang out together, and occasionally with family..
my mom is totally reliant on my dad because she's sick.
he is completely wrapped up in her still after all these years..
    it's really amazing..
they are soulmates, no doubt about it...

i think it has set up an almost impossible situation for me.
(finding that kind of love is fucking rare)

Parents are still together even though they
used to threaten one another with divorce
all the time I think they're finally relaxing.

Come to think of it, out of all my friends I'm
pretty sure only a few's paretns are still together.

    Parents split.

And why do yall feel like your parents set you up for failure? You should be happy their love is so strong and that you at least know it exists... Some people don't even have that.

My moms been through a few husbands. My dads deffintly cool, but the other guy was a prick, and he had a mullet. Long story short, mom busted him with some other chick, so she kicked him out, then the chick he was with kicked him out. Last I heard he had no car, and was living in some shitty appt. Good times.

i'm happy about it, believe me..
mom would be in big trouble if it wasn't for dad.
yes, cool to know it exists...

but, my dad...he doesn't even LOOK at other women..
they don't drink, they don't do shit except be together..
it's just a really high set of standards
    very rare..
and for the first 10 years of my life, i thought that was normal
it's just very very hard to find, and no fuckin way would i get married for anything less.

    *believe*

    no shit.
    yeah, you can find
    a person to fill the
    shoes for a minute.
    finding someone
    who will be there for
    you when your sick,
    thats tough. how many
of you that are in a
    relationship can truly
    say you will wipe your
    significant others ass if
    you had too? anyone?

    im not kidding either.
