Thing is, I have absolutely no friends or acquaintances that know anything about it (hell, even I can school some of those of those dirty, "numetal" heads who know nothing). I was meaning to ask you, though, what do you think of Megadeth? see, from what I've heard, I really like 'em, but I can't help but think that they are just the tip of the commercial iceberg (i'm not saying that is a bad thing). Are they real metal, in your opinion, or am i more clueless than i thought. another reason I ask is because the ?bassist? for Metallica took off and started Megadeth years ago - and now they're done 'cuz I hear that the bassist is sick, or lost his arm, or something like that. either way, I love that song Taken No Prisoners. serpent of the light Posted August 21, 2002 Share Posted August 21, 2002 canadiano: i like hip hop. i'm actually getting fairly into it. its got great lyrics. just usually not funny things like that burzum quote i used. i really like megadeth. they're not black or death, which are my preferences, but they kill w/ power all the same. as far as metal socio-politics, i don't really get into it. when its in punk or oi, i say fuck it. but in metal its not particularly a big deal to me. i don't like it, and if its preachy, i will certainly not support it, but racists making music doesn't take away from the sheer brutality of music.
