Casek, does this actually say anything??..not trying to be a prick here, but i just dont understand it..how do you go about doing something like this??..do you actually know what you are doing or just kind of freestyle it and throw lines in where it feels right??..im generally interested

i do it in a 3d program. 3d studio max, to be specific. alot of the time i'll take time to model out a shape that i feel is "right". and render out the wireframe of it, then use photoshop to add a background, color, whatever.

sometimes it's on the random side of things, sometimes it's not.

most of my stuff doesn't say anything. sometimes it does.

older 3dstuff

I haven't played with 3D Studio Max since V4 came out, most of this is from v2 or 3, about 4 years ago. I don't have a computer at home that is worth running it on anymore.

That Antiks is fresh. Asew6, that last one is nice but it would've been a whole lot better if the lines were more defined... Uhhhh... Thin. Everything else is pretty cool too.

FR8HOUND, you're not alone. I'm pretty fuckin' sped when it comes to shit done on computers. They're probably using Adobe Illustrator. I hear good things about that software and Painter 6. I think I'll download 'em later today... But I'm on dial-up so it'll probably take days and shit. Haha.

yeah, i do have models rendered, check the gallery at www.casek.deviantart.com to see some of my models. they're all "abstract".

as for why they are lines, unlike Joker, who uses the negative space to make his stuff "pop out" (or however you'd describe it), i use the lines to bring forth 3 dimensional space in a 2d setting (sort of). i'm aiming for the simple, yet complex. Joker seems to be on the minimalist tip. it works very well for him. his style is unique.

he's a huge influence on my work, but i try to stay away from anything that would be biting his style. it only resembles it. whereas his stuff forms letters, mine forms its own space.

i don't know exactly how to desribe what i'm doing. that's the best attempt.

same for describing what Joker does, it's only my take on his stuff, probably not the way he'd describe it. hell, it's 6:00a.m. and i've been awake for far too long.

i've got a dentists appointment sometime this morning. whoo-hoo!!! gas and pills!
