Death In A Bottle Has Now Come....

Madcap Scottish brewing maestro Brew Dog, has launched the world's strongest beer to a volley of criticism from health chiefs.

The 32% abv brew, called Tactical Nuclear Penguin (great name), takes over the mantle as the world's strongest beer from German concoction Schorschbraerm which weighs in at a measly 31% abv.

The incredible strength was attained when the beer, which started life as a 10 percent imperial stout, was aged for 16 months in two different whiskey casks before being stored in a freezer at a ball-shriveling -20°C for three weeks.

I read about this yeasterday and I'm still unsure... at first bluxh I'm turned off. I'm happy hovering around 6% w/ my beer, if I wanted more I can drink wine or actual booze but I find it hard to believe there's a beer out there I wouldn't drink because of alcohol content. I just wonder how it's gonna affect the flavor of what I consider beer... it says stout and I've found my groove w/ porters but Guiness and others get the nod so... I'm going to reserve judgement until after I try it.

They sold the Tokyo in about three weeks in two bottle shops over their way. I've already put my name down for four of these, I hope like all fuck they make it to me.

You'll find that they know what they are doing when it comes to punchy beers, and the hookup with Isle of Arran for the whisky stout was awesome. Same with the Paradox.

Brewdog are the coolest thing in the beer world at the moment.

not my dish. I was at the local craftbeer shop the other day

and discovered a 12 oz 120 minute Dogfish Head was singing

to the tune of 10$. Price for 1.

They are retardedly expensive there but that said... You cant

find 120 minute DFH at just any convenience store. Even

the 60 minute is only found at shops with an inspired selection.

Chances are i wouldnt like it anyways and

The last time I drank a beer with a super high percentage I got kicked out of the Alpha Blondie concert for hitting on one of his dancers.

Sierra Nevada Estate Ale. Shits correct. Has the faintest essence

of flowers in the background. They call it Estate Ale because they

grew all the ingredients on site.

Deninitely worthwhile

Im not usually a fan of the loaded beers. This is like 7.2 so its

not that extreme but If i had it like that i would drink it regularly

I had a beer that if I remember was a 20 something % Belgian while in France.

By the time I got to about the halfway mark of the bottle it tasted like fucking liquor.

I think I'll pass on this one unless I hear good things about it.

I usually cut off my beers around the 12% mark. Anything more than that and it's just not my thing...even so the highest content I will consume on a regular basis is 9% in Chimay Blue; I can't even think of any 12% brew that I often buy off the top of my head.

That sounds disgusting. I can't hang with beer that gets into the double digit percentages, it's just too much.

Innis and Gunn make a great beer made in whiskey casks.

They are just trying something completely different. Their recent Whisky Stout won gold at the international beer awards, that's about 12%. I'll agree that it's bloody expensive stuff though at aboout $12/330mL.

FYI, I was told it would cost about $50 aussie for each bottle, and that none of the 'company share' bottles will be headed this way.

I'm a big fan of quite a few imperial stouts or other really strong beers that sit between 10 and 12% ABV, but i still don't think i'd want anything to do with a bottle of 32% beer. I mean, i'd try it, but I wouldn't pay for it. Maybe it's delicious though.
