Gunm
Okay, so i went and saw the Butterfly Effect today with my chick which all in all wasn't that bad of a flick. I liked it. Anyway, I saw a preview for what is sure to be the most bad ass zombie flick of the last five years. Better, WAY BETTER that 28 Days Later.... DAWN OF THE DEAD! When hell is full, the dead will walk the earth! Omfg.....the preview for this flick freaked me the fuck out. My chick had my left arm in a death grip during the trailer's one minute long running time. We're talking zombie holocaust in the suburbs of america here. It looks ill....no, beyond ill.......Wonk saggin zombilicious ill. I am so amped to see this shit. God, i live for zombie movies. Am I the only one to see this preview yet? Al Green
Originally posted by the_gooch you do know that this "new" dawn of the dead is a remake, right?? yes... its a spin remake.. the original by george romero.. is classic for many reasons... the whole cult genre of ultra gore is really interesting.. G romero made his movies more as social commentary.. alot specifically dealing with the vietnam war.. and have been said to be almost theraputic for vets.. honestly i fucking loved the original.. its a sick fucking movie. im actually interested in the sequel to resident evil.. which was actually a decent flic although there was cheesiness. but what horror flic isnt cheesy.. i mean friday the 13th.. come on.. the_gooch
the remake of night of the living dead wasn't too bad, had more gore than the original. hopefully dawn will be as good if not better than the original. dawn and day of the dead were more funny than scary, but ya gotta love romero either way. tom savini's efx were dope too! he had a cameo in dawn of the dead as one of the out law bikers. bad ass! the_gooch
i saw a sick documentary called "American Nightmare" which covered the genre of horror. it featured, romero, carpenter, cronenberg, wes craven, dario argentio, tobe hooper, and john landis. it brought out all of the social commentary that many of their films hinted at. well worth buying, if you like this sort of thing. god, i wish i still had all of my old issues of fangoria from the 80's here is some more info on that film: http://www.the11thhour.com/archives/102000.../nightmare.html
