daily routine/ritual

i think there might've been a thread about this a while ago, but i'm too lazy to find it.

but what are some things you do everyday in the same exact order?

for me every morning is the same.

hit snooze 3 times exactly

get up eat some jellybeans, since i can't stand morning mouth

pet the cat

go to the shower

shampoo hair

wash face

rinse

condition

brush teeth

wash the rest of me

rinse hair

get out and get dressed

feed the cat

and leave.

it's the same every morning except on the weekend. everytime i take a shower alone it's the same order. it's kind of strange. i know when i do something out of order i'm really pre-occupied.

maybe i'm just strange but do you all have certain daily rituals?

happy friday.

Sounds a lot like my routine.

I actually eat twice in the morning, at home before I leave and right after I get to work. It's difficult for me to function otherwise.

Cream of wheat, mmmmm.. haven't had that for a while :yum:

cream of wheat is good, i like it with brown sugar or honey.

i used to have grits most mornings, but i guess that's sort of a southern thing. (i'm not from the south though)

people at work always bring in tasty sugary things in the mornings too. it's dangerous there's a dunkin donuts on every corner.

it's kinda sad everyday is the same. i need to get out of this cube, and i keep saying that.

i used to go to the gym every morning, that was a different routine, but now i just run at night. yay for warm weather.

Yeah, I've been trying to go for random walks outside lately when things are going slow here. I'm lucky to have such a relaxed job. You could offer me double the pay somewhere else and I would have to turn it down.

I usually run during my "lunch hour".. when it's nice out, of course. Warm weather rules. http://www.12ozprophet.com/ubb/icons/icon26.gif'>

My current....

Wake up, get dressed, go home.

well no. Not really.

  • Snooze button
  • walk to washroom
  • pee time!
  • splash my face with water
  • head to the kitchen
  • make myself a cafe americano
  • some days I'll eat a bagel or toast
  • walk out to the deck with my cafe
  • sit in the sunny doorway and smoke a cig
  • head back in a get some clothes for the day
  • head back to the washroom to shit-shower-shave
  • decide no to shave today
  • now after getting all fresh, I turn on the TV to see the weather report
  • (opptional) walk downstair to the store if I need something
  • walk the bike down the stairs
  • hit the road and get to work

yeah... relaxing mornings are key.

I know a few people (guys mostly) who rush out the door in 10 minutes

from the alarm clock to the last possible minute. I guess it's because I

live close enough to work that I can futz around a bit in the mornings.

It's seriously one of the best things ever.

I'd rather work as a barista or in retail in the 'hood than have to do the hour commute.

I can relate...I have a good hour commute and I get paid well for it but as they say "the grass is always greener on the other side." the responsibilities can be too much. I think I might be happier making half the pay with no responcability

I was born with the curse of a good work ethic and ability to deal with high responsibly situations and stress. God this gets old and never seems to stop.

Oh and that good work ethic thing doesn't count the last couple of days. I've spent way to much time on here.

my daily routine starts the night before with me telling myself i am going to wake up early and go to work at 8 instead of 9, setting the alarm for 7ish (i am always changing my alarm time, and it seem like after operating one for 20 something years i would have figured out that AM/PM thing out) and then hitting snooze until 8:30 ish if I got the AM thing right, giving me a good hour and a half of sleep interuppted every 9 minutes, wake up grumpy from this, shower, while in the shower i floss and listerine to save time, (or is it to spend more time in the shower?), hop out, brush, dress, short drive to work, ariving at @ 9:20ish, work til 6:30ish, go home or every other day i head to the beach to run and do a gymnastics based workout, and the other days i try to lift weights, then after that it varies. i am not a big breakfast eater but latley have been drinking a protein shake in the morning to get me started when i get to work, instead of coffee....

morning routine:

- roll out of bed and knock the items stacked ontop of my alarm clock over while trying to turn it off (if I don't stack em there I just turn the alarm off and go back to sleep without really being awakened)

- grab my robe and go have a morning leak

- scratch my ass

- shower

- deoderant application

- get dressed

- grab cell phone out of charger

- go catch the bus

" I slept in" morning routine:

- eventually wake up and look at the clock

- scream profanities at the top of my lungs

- run to the bathroom and stick my head under the shower to get rid of my "bed hair" while figuring out if I'm late enough that I need to call in

- get dressed while cursing and seeing if I have cab fare

- run out into the street and try to find a cab
