Cinched Waist's Italian Extravaganza

Needless to say, I had a great time.

Can't say I'm all that hot on Rome, though.

Probably b/c our hotel was in this raunchy part of town where

I couldn't stay out past 10pm and saw a lady get strangled by

her husband.

Alot of parts were still neat, tho.

Esp. all the graff.

*The catacombs were closed, the biggest disappointment!

Venice was too ill.

I loved that little town to pieces.

I'm glad it still wasn't flooded.

**I can't even tell you how many winding stairs I had to climb to get up here. For $2 more dollars I could've taken an elevator. It was hell...but a pretty view. From the top of St. Peter's Bascilica**

I hear you on the raunchy hotel part, when I went I had to share a room with 3 other people (which was bad considering the size of the room). Also the elevator only went up to the 3rd floor so we had to walk the last one when we went up to out room, which had a beautiful view of an alley.

I didnt care too much for Rome either (too chaotic and expensive), but there was alot of beautiful ruins and artwork (especially in the Vatican).

We would go to the cutest place...i think it was called The Black Cat...maybe. I wish they had one like it in Chicago.

I really think that if my hotel was in a different area

I would have a different opinion of Rome.

I stayed in the Termini area. It was fine during

the day but at night it turned totally desolate.

We tried going out and just got harassed.

Then I saw the lady get strangled.

And the hotel was dumpy. The shower was a plastic cube

that leaked water all over the floor.

I guess it was a combo of not-so-good experiences that

made me not like Rome as much as Venice.

The coffee there was the best tho.

I couldn't believe how much graffiti was there.

Esp. on the train ride from Rome to Venice...just a stream of colors.

Fantastic.

Chicago is so lame in that regard.

damn cinched, you lost major cool points with me. termini is my hood. spent a good 2 years living in that chaos. rome is the bizzy, the city has to like you to have a good time. or have good hosts. those are my homies brus and jago, did you see the trams that ran on those tracks? they are smashed.

thanks for the pics, i miss that place.
