(a bad use of flash) MINI REVIEW Chromeo was two guys who claimed to be from New Jersey, and one had apparently just been released from jail. A skinny looking guy played guitar while his not-so-skinny partner in a hoodie that said "Dirty South" ate a moon pie on stage and then went to his bizarre synthesizer that was set up. They had fantastic charisma and really engaged the crowd getting everyone wild for their retro "disco". It was like Atom and His Package if he pretended to be a "homeboy" and mixed his 80's sound with funk and old-school rap instead of punk. The songs were hysterically funny. One was about how a girl kept wanting to have sex with the larger menacing looking member who, it turns out, is just a teddy bear who wants her to be his "lady friend". Another song began after the guitarist's girlfriend "called" him on stage and then he sang a song about her being so needy but then going out with other guys at the same time. It wasn't all laughs though, the guitar playing was better than in the two opening "guitar" bands and the strange synthesized vocals were a fantastic compliment.
