My girl does all the cooking but I can tell you that a good chefs knife is essential for any kitchen. And Yes the Japanese one are the best.

I've had an itch to buy some of those knives they sell on infomercials...Miracle Blades. Has anyone here ever used them and be willing to give an opinion?

$39.95 isn't bad for a knife set, so I assume they are trash...but if not...

well i paid 6bucks for mine and got a sharpner for another 5 or so and its lasted a few years. Those work well and have the garuntee...but it comes to preference on a clean edge you sharpen or a serrated that sharpens itself.

oops. i think i was thinking of ginzu.
did they saw thru a hammer and then slice a tomato? I have seen that demonstration before.
But to me sharpening is half the fun.

These come with a lifetime warranty as well....sounds like a good one too, from what the commecial says. "If these ever break or have any problems, even if it was your fault, and you were trying to break them, we'll replace them, no problem" kinda things.

They have a carpenter using them in the infomercial.

What kind of handles do they have? I dont like plastic handles. either metal rubber or wood.
I think I need to sign up for the carpenters union.
