oh dee. when airline employees tell you how much they get to fly for its sickening. my old roomate worked for british airways, she would dip to europe all the time for like $4.......

and usually the flight attendants only pay that $40 or $50 if they want to sit first class. it's usually free if you don't mind flying coach. but $50 for a first class ticket on a long flight somewhere nice...i haven't known anyone who'd pass that up.

you can check alaskan air. they run specials sometimes. i used to do the sf/oakland --> portland/seattle trip all the time. $115 RT is a real good price. plus, southwest has good 'frequent flyer' stuff. alot of the time they run deals, 4 rt tickets, get's you a 5th for free.
i'd say if alaskan doesnt have something better, snatch it up.

i've found swa to be cheapest

i don't even shop around anymore cuz i've got rapid rewards
    (8 rt = 1 rt free)

i've heard airtran is cheap and good, but they're not that big yet.

ATA also is cheap, but i have no idea where they go or how the flights are.

the other reason i love swa is that they don't have stoopid requirements about must be on the plane at least 15 minutes before takeoff or you lose your seat.

(northwest screwed me hard on that, wouldn't allow me on a flight even though it was still at the gate cuz i didn't check in early enough...i had to go to swa for a cheap ticket, last second, they were the only airline who offered a ticket to me on that short notice for less than $450 ...the ticket ended up being about $150 with swa)

sometimes you can get flights even cheaper than what is posted on the web if you call the airline directly.
