I think that we share quite a bit of common ground with the calligraphers

and typesetters out there. The chisel tip marker that we know so well

is really the tool of penmanship.

I dedicate this thread to the roots of the handstyle.

i've been learning chinese calligraphy almost all my life~ it's essential for students in asia to know how to do calligraphy. mostly in japan and china. they teach them in class once ur in elementary school all the way up to high school. it's pretty neat if ur into this kinda thing.. but gets kinda boring afterwards... like after doing 7-8 years of it..

handstyles=my favorite part about graffiti......base of everything....studying up on those traditional Old English letters right now.....ive never really gotten into studying actual text letters until now, about 4-6 years from when i started....its my loss i guess....soon to be my gain.....

i can't really explain this to u but almost every chinese word contains of different little parts put together to form the word, and each word has a definate part that represents it. the parts (strokes) on the keyboard are the main ones that usually forms a word, and yes there are thousands different words. so if u hit a certain button on the keyboard a list of different words comes up... it's really complicated, ppl go to classes to learn how to type chinese.
