Hey, everyone. I'm a journalist writing a book about the spread of hip-hop culture over the last 25 years, and I'm looking for graffiti writers who were active in the New York suburbs (Long Island, Westchester, New Jersey, etc.) in the early 1980s. If you were tagging that long ago, and are willing to share your stories, I'd love to get in touch with you. You can hit me at jasontanz@mac.com; I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have about me or the book. Thanks for your time.

do you honestly think a police officer would be trying to hunt a bunch of old dudes for some petty vandalism from 20 years ago? get a grip on reality kids.

nevertheless jason, i think you're going to have a tough time getting anyone on here to talk, regardless.

actually when a member of a well known production crew from the bronx got bagged with 2 german pals a couple years ago..the cops tried to get him to produce written documentation for every legal wall he did spanning the past 8 or 9 years...

but i don't think this guy is a cop...

Not a cop, guys. Google my name and you'll see some of my clips in Fortune, NY Times, etc. I've already conducted interviews with plenty of big names, and if you'd prefer to speak anonymously or under your tag, that's fine. I'm just trying to write a good book, and think your cooperation might help. But no sweat if you're not comfortable with it. If you feel like talking, hit me at jasontanz@mac.com. Thanks for your time.

I like how everybody assumes this guy is a cop. He's asking for information that is long past the statute of limitations and writes articles for fortune magazine for godssakes. The name and e-mail did not just suddenly appear, I found a post from 2003 asking for information about ricers and drifting elsewhere. http://www.drifting.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-424.html

    Chill out.

the funny thing is that the people who scream 'cop' the loudest, are the ones with the least to worry about.
you kids need to learn to keep your fucking mouths shut.
    it's god damn annoying.
