Set your download limit to one- that will also help things to move along, as will not running programs that require a lot of memory. I normally keep my virus scan on when I'm DL'ing to be on the safe side, even though it slows down the entire works, but fuck it. Running MS Office or Abobe anything (other than Acrobat) will make things crrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeep. Also, you may want to do a virus scan twice a week just to make sure you haven't gotten burnt. I've never had a problem, but I am vigilant when it comes to what I DL, too....I ONLY get mp3 files. Anyhing else with a different extention gets deleted right away. I can be dling from like 20 people and they are all sharing with me at like 1kbs. But when i start to upload to people im cranking out like 27kbs. Why doesnt everyone share at this rate? Quoted post I think it has to do with the number of people in the torrent. I need to reformat my comp to deal w/some of the porting issues that go along w/bittorrent. Same thing happened to me. One time, it took me seven hours to DL a 90 minute movie at <3kbs. I guess the concept behind the torrent is that multiple users download different parts of the file/app as you need them....so, logic dictates that the more people that send you packets of data, the faster the DL will be.
