    Best Vanilla Ice songs

    Discussion started by MrGraffiti2 - May 5, 2003

I was listening to his stuff today. It brought back old memories. I was curious to check out more of his songs. I mean the guy has flow, good beats, punchlines, and he's almost as good as Will Smith. The sad thing is the only song I heard form the guy was "Ice Ice Baby". Does anybody have a top 3, 5, or 10 Vanilla Ice songs? Or just about any song by him you believe I should check out? Or just praise Vanilla Ice. :)

the truth is, vanilla ice was down with great acts in the hip hop community like EPMD and Public enemy, and got their respect.

It was idiotic racists like arsenio hall that clowned him when he was thrown into the mainstream, and convinced much of black america to hate him as well.

almost ten years later, america was ready for the next "white" rapper, this time it was a smart marketing decision to have him presented to america by veteran black rapper Dr. Dre.

Vanilla Ice was cheesy, but take a look at what else was going on in hip hop during that era.

well he turned his "respect" into a sequined wearing, pompadour having, "word to your motha" saying joke.

on tv hes even said he fucked up, though im sure he had about 500 hands on him pushing him in the direction they wanted him to go.

either way, im angry that im arguing in a thread about vanilla ice.

3rd Bass - Pop Goes The Weasel
    ================================

    Verse One
Pop goes the, pop goes the windin' of the weasel
i see the empty pocket needs a refill
i got a squad with a list of complainers
i should have started RAPE, Rappers agianst phoney entertainers
so we can make it known that we won't get swade
    it's 91 son, so somthin's gotta change
gettin paid petal snearks and soda pop, pop pop goes the weasel
as drawls drop drop drop, 1 take them, non top pop head (?)
dig the music and make the senseless ryhmes fit
it's the fact that ya can't be artistic
    intracat raps, comin so simplistic
gotta strong mind and it doesn't have to be spoon fed
and i can read it so 'cuz it has to be read
so some stay illiterate and feeble, leagally let ya
go the ways of the weasel, the weasel
    Chorus
Pop Pop goes the weasel, the weasel -- three times repeat
Pop goes the weasel, 'cuz the weasel goes pop / chorus
    Verse Two
Hip hop, got turned into hip hop
the second erect is number 1 on the pop charts
but don't get started on the guy that started
in the Getto, don't let no one forget about the hard part
now in 91 we got a new brand, and new band
lookin like the same old clan, same old theives
that skeez, so we got to make sure that real rap got to indure
watch all my points in the period
appearin in complex structure like a pyramid
the paper for the media presents
ya learn lesson from the face of false legend
stop vexin, on school, ya ain't originate
on thin ice will break and set ya straight
ate up on the plate, now who'd deisel, not the weasel
not the weasel, pop goes the weasel
    Chorus
    Verse Three
Ya stole somebody's record then ya looped it, ya looped it
ya boosted the record then ya looped it, ya looped it
Yo, i come from Collie (sp?) and they hooped it, they hooped it
and now you're getting sued kinda stoopid
boosted track, smack, ya got no haps to reach the 4
corners of the map, to kids in Kansas
to kids to speak spanish, doin crazy damage
    so the wack get's banished
ya can't manage the truth until the biway
ya ain't quic so ya cut off the exit to my highway
to rest but a crook, had to take a second look
ever heard of a cheif who can't cook?
but the minister prime can lay laws
hey yo, Pete Nice, rip the mic and go or yours
i goes for mine, i goes for mine,
i find the prime won't eat the green eggs and swine
on line like the search, or the hoody with the woody
get a disc or tape at Sam goody
so ya run through the doors that are left open
left the scene on the crime smokin
i got plenty up like a scud see
blow up, like i'm blowin up a beef patty
see out, like the measel's no cure, 'cus pop goes the weasel
    the weasel
    Chorus

GO NINJA GO NINJA GO!!! NINJA RRRRRAP!

YO! It’s the green machine -- Gonna rock the town without bein’ seen
Have you ever seen a turtle Get Down? -- Slammin’ Jammin’ to the new swing sound
Yeah, everybody let’s move -- Vanilla is here with the new Jack Groove
Gonna rock, and roll this place -- With the power of the ninja turtle bass
Iceman, ya know I’m not playin’ -- Devistate the show while the turtles are sayin:

    Chorus:
Ninja, Ninja, RAP! Ninja, Ninja, RAP!
    GO GO GO
Go Ninja, Go Ninja, GO; Go Ninja, Go ninja, GO!
Go Ninja, Go Ninja. GO; Go Ninja, Go ninja, GO!
    GO GO GO GO

Lyrics, fill in the gap -- Drop that bass and get the NINJA RAP
Feel it, if you know what I mean -- Give it up for those heroes in green
Just flowin, smooth with the power -- Kickin’ it up, hour after hour
Cause in this life there’s only one winner -- You better aim good so you can hit the center
In it to win it, with a team of four -- Ninja Turtles that you gotta adore it’s the:

    Chorus

Villians, you better run and hide -- Because one day you might not slide
Choose your weapon but don’t slip -- Vanilla’s in control with the flex of the mic grip
Rockin’ the crowd the way it should be rocked -- With the Miami drop that you like alot
Hittin like a Ninja Turtle when the bass kicks in -- You better check your level
The power of the Ninja is strong -- Fightin’ all the crooks until they’re all out cold

Vanilla Ice disses are not needed. Good post gooch. :) Brought back memories. I checked his first cd yesterday, the one with ice ice baby. As much as I like him, I now see why he is considered a one hit wonder by many. I dont see why many hated him.

How did he turn his respect into a joke FreightLover? Enlightne me. Did he not really care for it or something? Was he doing it just for the spotlight?

Let the Vanilla Ice rants and raves continue.
