if you like talking heads you should check out tom tom club which has some of its members from th.

"wordy rappinghood" was one of the first white people attempts at rap and "genius of love" has a dope beat that even mariah carey sampled...

i dunno from my past arguments with mental i think he genuinely likes "that kind of music" and if its what you enjoy then have at it.

i think attitudes like yours suburban are really killing music appreciation as we know it. everyone tries to be cooler than the next.

i aint trying to go see sigur ros (i had the opportunity) live and well, his top 3 albums are pretty much the same as SPINs, but more power to him.

the lips rule, but have had WAY better albums in the past. i think the same goes for wilco...

music is a personal thing, to each his own.

i recently listened to soft bulletin by the lips and although its good, i dont think it compares to yoshimi...

and i dont think suburb bum was being serious......but your right railroad...i think 90% of music out there sucks...but i dont really concern myself with it, radio or rolling stone....

all the bands that i listed were given to me by friends, which i find to be the best source of information.......

mental:

transmissions from the satellite heart is a way more rock centered album of theres, "priest driven ambulance" is a little more trippy but still rockin, any of their stuff from the 80s is going to be weirder than any of the new stuff they have out.

and if you havent done zaireeka you havent lived!

Tell me about it, I was in the front row and must have been rowdy because I got sprayed in the face for like one whole minute with the gwargun. :p

another I slept on that I found out about this year:

muther fuckin' OUTKAST

oh, and mental's got some good taste in music, but we all know this by now.
