run an audio cable from your headphones output on your soundcard to the mic input on a stereo or tape recorder. record to tape. it is fun.

or you can run it from one computer to another computer and record with a program like cool edit.

(just be carefull about creating a feedback loop)

what application creates sound but doesn't offer any way to export or save?

Chances are Winamp has a plug-in to support any kind of audio file you can make.

or run a cable from the left/right channels at the back of your amp
to your headphone output, then record it to tape.
