As a child he had little contact with the western world but the few instances he did shine through in his art work as an adult. He had little to do with art as a child but there was one hint of his future calling in the shadow puppet theater he and his friends created, charging their audiences a penny or a potato to see the show. From there he went on to design 12 book covers for various star trek books and created the character Taarna for the cult movie classic heavy metal. His art work deals heavily in fantasy and science fiction with a somewhat healthy dose of Amazons and pin-up girls.
