Guest BROWNer Posted April 19, 2002 Share Posted April 19, 2002 mac nerds.... i need help.... so, here's the deal: i'm gonna get an ethernet cord, and transfer my files over to this ibook..... now...i'm gonna try to get my programs over too, if possible... but it seems that its not likely becuz i'd have to transfer my program preferences too(?).. there's an issue with having 2 different OS's trying to read the prefs.... does anyone know if there's another way or what? i'm still gonna try it, but....fuck.... zesto? Guest --zeSto-- Posted April 19, 2002 Share Posted April 19, 2002 umm... If you copy the preferences folder locally (on to the ibook) you should be fine. Then you wont have 2 systems looking at the same folder but 2 seperate systems. or make 2 partitions on the ibook, and just take the system folder from your tower and use that for one partition. Then you'll still have an independent system on the other partition running the original ibook set up. ??? dunno really. why not just do clean installs onto the ibbok? That's the easiest way.
