Ive had AOL for close to 9 years.
Its not a bad service. But you have to think about why you want internet. If you're a beginner on the computer, then its the way to go. If youre experienced Id say go with regular internet.

There arent any restrictions. AOL gives parents the control to filter the porn and shit from internet, but if youre account is listed as adult you wont have any problems.

Heres some good and bad about AOL..
    GOOD
    -easy
    -nice interface
    -nice newsgroup reader
    -chat rooms
    -a few exclusive areas

    BAD
    -spam, spam, spam
    -can be very childish
    -chat rooms fuckin suck
-the most expensive at $22 a month

My opinion. Go with regular internet..but download AOL IMer.

mapo you forgot to mention busy signals. i dunno if it still like that but when i had it back in like 97 it would take 20 minutes to get online cause their were too many people on my local line.

Dial Up. running at a nice 28k, I have a 33k(came with the comp...) modem but the lines around here only go to 28k so I laugh at the suckers who rushed out a few years ago and got 56k.

I have a 2 free month trial of Comcast Digital Cable Internet Service! Cable is kinda lame. Fast, which is nice, but from like 5pm till 11pm it just lags.

    I want a fucking T3.

in my area cable is a much better deal than dsl. to get the same speeds with dsl i'd have to pay 100+ a month but i only pay like 35 for cable.
