    i'm looking to do something a bit more complex than
    your standard, basic silk screening......
    anyone have any good explanatory how-to links or
    advice for the DIY steez?

    4 color process shirts are not that different in theory to make than single color silk screens. I don't know the whole technical aspects of it, but I do know how to make color separations in Photoshop to make your plates. That's the extent of my knowledge though.
