I'ma go see this flick on a huge Imax screen tonight.
How dam exciting is that? On Wednesday the next Matrix is
opening on the (very) big screen and I might have to do the same.

sure most Imax movies are either Stunning Nature flicks without any
real story or some Cirque De SoGay timewaster... but this is Alien!

    Oh Yeah!

alien is a fresh flick (all of em are)

i've only been to an imax once.... i saw "the world's greatest places"

it was cool... seeing areal movie seems as though it'd make me dizzy.

i thought the imax was domed..... that lil diagram you gave just makes it look like areally big screen

its not domed so much as it is curved horizontally and your perspective curves it vertically (although it isnt) giving the domed illusion.

im seeing some movie on the imax tomorrow, and hopefull the Matrix soon after.

  4. Matrix Reloaded on an IMAX was absolutely insane. I had seen it 3 times in the theaters before I saw it on an IMAX, and it felt like a whole other movie.

And Alien is fucking crucially necessary watching.

    the report....

Some IMAX screens are super curved. Those are more for planetarium
style shows and 'nature immersion' flicks. The one I watched was mostly
flat but with a bit of a curve just to avoid distortions. The 'planet' shot
at the very beginning of Alien just seemed so damn HUGE! I mean I was
dead center at the perfect height and I still needed to scan the screen.
That's the beauty of a really big screen... full immersion.

Matrix Revolutions opens on the IMAX screen this Wednesday.

    OH YEAH!!
