a decent free image editor for mac?

    ive been looking this morning and all i find either suck ass or simply dont work. whats the scoop? all i need it for is cropping and reducing the size of the pic.

    Photoshop is free with a little effort.

    In your case you want a freeware program called the gimp. It I'ts perfect for cropping and resizing, but it's quite challenging. You have to save all the files as .jpg or .jpeg, because it doesn't do it for you. Let me find the site.

    ive been using the gimp for years, but on linux. they got it ported to mac now?

    isn't the gimp basically an open source version of photoshop?

    Umm, if you only need it for a little while you could
    just go to adobe.com and download a 30 day trial
    of Photoshop CS.

    Do they have anything that stops you from downloading it every 30 days?
