KT08
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in making a page for a zine about the very broad topic of feminism. The zine will be #2 in a series of 5 or 6 that is being published for The F-Word gallery show at The Andy Warhol Museum. Each installment of the zine will look at some of the artists in the show and a few pittsburgh artists, but will mainly be an expression of what feminism presently is, and how the term is embraced, negated, affrimed, extended, or manipulated by our current culture. Issue #1 was very rushed,(we had two weeks to put it together), and we still have about 400 copies to put together, for the museum requires we have 1000 copies of issue for the gallery. This is annoying not because of the photocopying or the stapleing, but mainly because the cover is a two color screenprint on lightly spraypainted paper. here are a few pages of it. http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g86/KTK08/HOP.jpg http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g86/KTK08/GHT.jpg http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g86/KTK08/YUI.jpg In every issue, the zine staff meets with a particular local artist whose work connects with the F-word show. The artist we are chatting and collaborating with for #2 is Ayanah Moor. You can see her work here:www.ayanah.com I want to stress that this call is not soley for women. I want to gather a variety of veiwpoints on the subject, so it would be ideal for guys to participate. It doesn't have to be art, it could simply be you writing down your thoughts. The only real restriction is that it your page is going to be in black and white on an 8"x7" paper. Everyone who sends me a page will in return get a special edition copy of the zine they're work is in, not to mention artistic exposure. If your super interested in getting copies of every issue that can totally be arranged. Pm me if you are interested, and I will send you the address to send your work to. I would really appreciate it! Oh yeah for those of you who don't know what a zine is, it is basically an independent publication.
