So what if the jawn is blurry! It makes for a more intersting photo.

If the polaroid appears purple, you're using the camera and film pack in a cold environment. Let it warm up and try then.

If you have a light leak, try to use it to your advantage. Once again, it cam lead to interesting photos.

Never tried Polaroid Transfers.

I've been meaning to buy different film types.

I have tried this though.

- Using 600 film, take a generic photo.

- Having a pair of scisors handy, cut off the white border.

- Gently peel apart the image from the photo chemical backing.

- Place the chemical backing on a papered surface and peel developing from black back layer. Be gentle not to rustle the checmical layer.

- Manipulate the checmical layer as you like on paper.

- Use the photo for anything you'd like.

Does anyone want a step by step visual instruction?

*edit: wait... okay, maybe this IS a transfer

*note.

My jawn fucked up because I used a new pack of 600 film straight out of the Fridge.

Will work better with room temperature equipment.

Try this:

http://www.angryalan.com/photohost/12ozalbum/transfer1.jpg'>

Tools~

¬ Paper (or some smooth surface)

¬ A Polaroid that takes 600 film

¬ Scissors

¬ A brain that is willing to accept the fact that you may

fuck this up, but it's cool to try new things.

http://www.angryalan.com/photohost/12ozalbum/transfer2.jpg'>

1. Using 600 film, take a generic photo.

http://www.angryalan.com/photohost/12ozalbum/transfer3.jpg'>

2. Wait for image to develop, approx 2 - 3 minutes.

http://www.angryalan.com/photohost/12ozalbum/transfer4.jpg'>

3. Cut off ALL white border.

***different image***

http://www.angryalan.com/photohost/12ozalbum/transfer5.jpg'>

4. Now you are ready to peel the image layer and chemical layer.

****This is where I fucked up****

I should have A) waited longer to develop and

B) should have let my film become room temperature.

http://www.angryalan.com/photohost/12ozalbum/transfer6.jpg'>

5. This is the back black layer which will be attatched to the chemical layer.

http://www.angryalan.com/photohost/12ozalbum/transfer7.jpg'>

6. Gently peel apart the image from the photo chemical backing.

http://www.angryalan.com/photohost/12ozalbum/transfer8.jpg'>

7. Place the chemical backing on a papered surface and peel developing from black back layer.

Be gentle not to rustle the checmical layer.

http://www.angryalan.com/photohost/12ozalbum/transfer9.jpg'>

8. Manipulate the checmical layer as you like on paper. This layer should peel off from the black backing and SHOLD be the same

consistency as a piece of double-sided tape.

http://www.angryalan.com/photohost/12ozalbum/transfer10.jpg'>

9. Use the photo for anything you'd like.

http://www.angryalan.com/photohost/12ozalbum/transfer11.jpg'>

10. In this event it came out with an awesome transparency.

GOOD LUCK!

tesser... have you tried to do poloroid transfers with Acetone? or will that not work? Just a curiosity question. I have not tried it yet and was wondering if you or anybody has tried this process.

I am only familiar with doing that with laser prints... and love it.. so I am just i would like to know if it would work with poloroids as well.

Pedro, i really dont know if acetone would work...the more i search on the web the more technics i find...some use hot water, some use soap for the dishes...i have to try that stuff one day.

This PDF looks like the most complete guide i came across

It also works with b&w photocopies, i think you just drop some aceton on it, press it against another paper-face down- and voila.

Here you go Browner

Acetone Transfers. Very easy, very ghetto, very cheap.

First and foremost do the burnishing process in a well ventilated room wearing thick rubber gloves and a respirator

Materials

Rubber Gloves

Respirator

Acetone

Burnisher (Photo IDs, Credit Cards etc. work as well)

Laser Print (I am only listing laser prints because I am an advocate of this, I believe that the toner in B&W photo copies are not strong enough)

Procedures

1. Take your design/image/text/picture etc. and make sure that it is

the reverse of what the original is.

2. Print to a Laser Printer

3. Take print and lay it image side down on material you are transfering

it to

4. Tape corners down.

5. Pour Acetone onto a clean rag. Rub the back of the print down with

acetone wet rag, paper will become transluscent. Do this in sections

DO NOT do the whole image at once, 5in. X 5in. areas only.

6. Burnish the affected area until the paper becomes opaque again.

7. Repeat all the steps checking periodically to make sure it is working

I have done this onto high quality paper, canvas, tshirts... every time it has worked great. I have yet to try the process with color prints, though I know it is possible, if anyone has done this feel free to drop your experience.

AND if anyone has any other methods for transfers holla at me.

hope this helps.
