Green arrived in a white Cadillac, wearing a tuxedo and rolled out his own red carpet, outside the Magicopolis theatre in Santa Monica, Los Angeles.

It is a totally, very proud moment for me

Tom Green

"When we set out to make this film we wanted to win a Razzie, so this is a dream come true for me," he said.

Jersey Girl was Kevin Smith, who does interesting and original work in my opinion.

Sure he's been copied to death, but the guy makes fun and enjoyable movies.

Jersey Girl is a bit of a departure from his 'Silent Bob' days, but I think that the

Bennifer connection hurt him more than it should have.

Exactly, he was trying to make a film that had mass appeal and openly admits to this. I bet that if the whole Bennifer tabloid thing and Gigli never happened, Jersey Girl would have been a bit more of a hit. It's cheesy as fucking hell but for what it is (a chick flick) I enjoyed it. Plus it has George Carlin in it.

Still, I'm glad he's back to making the type of films he does best with Clerks 2.

I'm pretty sure he never 'openly admitted' to wanting to make a film with more "mass appeal". He wanted to make a film about his family, and what would happen if his wife ever kicked the bucket. He wrote a really long letter about it directed to the press. I find it really endearing, although I doubt I'd dig the movie.

Mediocre director, great writer and speaker.

I've read him say that Jersey Girl was his way of trying to break into the mainstream. You'd probably like the film on some level. It's not a bad movie and the little kid is adorable. It's just very cheesy chick flick stuff. But there are definitly things to like about it.

I think he's a good director, I think of his stuff as minimilist. There's not a lot of sweeping shots, crazy cuts, he usually just puts the camara in a spot and leaves it there. For the types of films he makes this is an effective method. It reminds me a lot of reading comic books and I've said it before here but I think that this is most apparent in "Chasing Amy" when at the end you see Holden's comic and the pictures in it translate into still frames from earlier in the film.

And he is most definitly a great writer.
