12oz Thread Naming Conventions

I had this great idea earlier for the site. I've heard many people

talking about how it should be easier to search posts done by

one person or on a particular subject... So I've come up with these

thread naming conventions.

If people comply and adopt these abbreviations, it will make it tons

easier to find all the threads that fall under certain categories.

Just add these abbreviations (dashes included) to your thread titles,

at the end or wherever, at the beginning.

--APR-- Appreciation

--VGM-- Video Game

--NOM-- New/Old Movie

--STR-- Super Thread

--WNW-- World News

--QAS-- Question and Answers

--LAF-- Humor

--TFI-- Top Five

--SHO-- Music Concert

--PRN-- Boobs

--FAH-- Metrosexual/fashion

--COM-- Computer Related

--PLT-- Play List

If anyone else has any more that need to be added to this list, please feel

free to do so.

A sticky might do this thread some justice, although there's about 6 stickies in ch0 right now so I dunno. But, this is a seriously good idea, I would like to see people use these, I think it would help.

I dont need to use any of these abbreviations on my threads cuz they stay on the top of page one.

There are some good suggestions for others to add.... all we need to do, as the thread starters, is start using them.... the more threads that have them, the more threads that can be searched later and categorized.

--MET-- : any metrosexual themed thread concerning fashion, gardening and the likes

(not that it makes it metro ... just so many people refer to stuff like that as metro)

--UBR-- : UBER!!!!!11!!1

in theory its a good idea, in practise i dont see many people using it....

when writing a post it was customart to click one of the abreviations (they were listed, one would be selected) and the post wouldnt go through unless one was selected.

yeah, but then there would have to be a category for every thread made and it would bung things up thats where the problem with that lies.

i'd be too lazy for this, and i think it'd make the forum look more trashy then it already is, my personal opinion...

Well I think if it ever was put into the post thread page itself, that it should be an option and not a requirement. But I'll tell you that it won't really be noticed unless people affiliate this practice with making a thread.

It doesn't have to be for every thread, but there are certain threads that would greatly benefit from it. If you want to add these to your threads to ease the finding of them later, then do it. If you don't want to, don't.
