In case anyone was wondering, i'm a film projectionist and I sometimes get invites to trade screenings of films. You get to see it starting February 18th. God and Satan made a pact, no Demons or Angels were ever allowed to cross onto the earthly plane. They could only stay in either Heaven or Hell. John Constantine is a chain-smoking sinner living in downtown LA. When he was younger Constantine committed suicide, a mortal sin in the eyes of God. He did so because he could see things as a child. Half-breeds of humans between Demons and Angels. Those who commit suicide are not allowed to go to Heaven. They must go to Hell. Exactly where Constantine was sent. Too bad he came back. After being in hell for only two minutes Constantine decides he never wants to go back. He walks the earth in search of saving the souls of the living from the demons that have taken over their bodies. This is how he tries to save his own soul for when his day arrives. Constantine has lung cancer and could die any day. *He coughs up blood in many cheerful parts of the film.* Here's where the spoilers start... The beginning of the film starts in Mexico. Two men are searching for random trinkets in the ruins of a church. One steps on an old floorboard and discovers something. A Nazi flag with the tip of a spear. He quickly runs off with it and then gets hit by a car. *Anyone ever see the Unkle/Radiohead video for "Rabbit In Your Headlights? Same thing* The Mexican destroys the car, leaps off the wreckage and walks off screen. *Note: The spear is the same spear that was used to kill Christ while on the crucifix. Cue John Constantine. Constantine goes to save a life in an apartment complex. A girl is possessed by a Soldier Demon (see Figure 4). In order exorcise the demon, Constantine must trap it in a mirror and destroy it. It works the girl is saved. Yay. Isabel Dodson and Angela Dodson are twins. Isabel commits suicide and leaves Angela wondering why. Angela knew her sister would never do such a thing. They are devout Catholics. Angela and Constantine meet by fate. Angela wants Constantine's help to know if her sister is in Hell or not. Constantine discovers that there is more behind Angela and Isabel. They could both see Demons and Angels. Only Angela chose not to as she grew older. Now Angela has bigger problems, they are after her. Half-breeds walk the earth and can push anyone in the direction of good or evil. Balthazar is half Demon. Gabriel is half Angel. *Forgive me if I get a little confused here. It went by quickly and this is what I think was the plot.* The son of Satan can be unleashed on earth if Angela is possessed by him. The only way to unleash him is by killing her, for the son of Satan to resurrect her, and the spear to kill her and release the Demon. The Mexican makes it to LA with spear in hand in search of Angela. The Mexican kills Angela and son of Satan takes her body. Constantine arrives and attempts to save her before it's unleashed. Gabriel arrives and tells Constantine to fuck off, then she attempts to use the spear to release the son of Satan. *Confused yet?* Now Constantine tries one last resort. He calls upon Satan to help him. *Remember: the son of Satan cannot be release onto earth* Satan shows up in a white suit and some cool tattoos. He stops Gabriel from unleashing his spawn from Angela and returns to Constantine. Constantine asks Satan to send Isabel to Heaven. He does. Then Satan is allowed to get Constantine in return. He can't. Constantine made a sacrafice of himself for the soul of another to go to heaven. He gets to go to. On his way to the bright light, Constantine gives Satan the finger. Satan doesn't give up that easily. He grabs Constantine and takes him back to earth, removes his lung cancer and "condemns" him to living the rest of his life. *Yea.. I'm still confused. *Note: If anyone sees this movie and realizes I am wrong or off on any of this, please feel free to correct me. KTHX In conlusion.. it was okay. Great for CG eye-candy.
