  1. Bump. RIP Child. Miss you more than ever.
  2. Charlie did a hell of a job on that casket. You got any flicks of the tribute wall they did?
  3. I was never a writer. But CHILD was one of my best friends and I just wanted to bump this thread and make sure he's still remembered by the graffiti community. I can post pics of what a toy he was when he showed up at college our freshman year. I'm talking laughably bad. We were at art school in brooklyn where everyone thought they were a graf writer or a b-boy. And while CHILD and I hit it off from the start I gotta admit his painting was pretty wack compared to some of the more established writers we went to school with. At the time I was thinking he should stick to skating. But being the stubborn motherfucker that he was he persisted and in a matter of a few years I watched him progress insanely fast. He hooked up with guys like SNOW and SHONE and the more he painted with them the better and better he got. I think the big thing was he didn't have an ego when it came to his work. I knew plenty of writers who knew they were the shit the day they I met them and they pretty much plateaued. Not CHILD. He was hungry and just kept getting better. He took his life 10yrs ago today. I got the call at 5am after the cops randomly knocked on one of my friends doors who lived in the neighborhood. Worst day of my life. Any of you who were lucky enough to know him will know that not only was he a talented painter but he was one of the craziest, funniest and most loyal people you'd ever meet. Always the life of the party. And he'd always have your back. And love him or hate him if you spent any amount of time with him he'd surely leave you with a story a you'd never forget. Ten years later I still tell his stories to people that will never meet him. He had his demons and they got the best of him. But in a twisted way it's almost poetic that he immortalized himself as a CHILD who refused to grow up. RIP Brother.
